Santa Claus and a Haircut?

We went to the Harrisburg East Mall again this year to visit with Santa Clause while he was there. Toddy didn't want to get his haircut for the occassion, but we did manage to bribe him with a new toy that he could pick out at the big Toys R Us that is nearby the mall. So knowing that he was going to meet with Santa and get a new toy, he agreed to get his hair cut for the occassion.

Christkindle Market

Tonight we (Toddy, me, Arlon, Heidi, and Mammy) went to the Christkindle Market at Mifflinburg. We try to make this a yearly event as it reminds us of the Christmas market in Nuremburg, Germany that we are fond of. We visited all of the shops, watched the singers, a german horn alpine horn player, German Juggle Boy, got our pictures taken with Santa, St Nicholas, German wood carvers making trees on a lathe, and our favorite part - ate Bratwurst!

Getting a Christmas Tree

Toddy, Todd, David and I went looking for our Christmas tree today. It always seems like I pick one of the coldest days of the season to go outside and wander the tree farms looking for that perfect tree. Toddy only spent about 5 minutes out in the cold and went running back to the car, while the rest of us walked around the tree lot to find the tree. Again this year, we were able to find trees that suited me at the first stop that we made. We bought two trees, (one for us and one for mammy) and tied them to the top of my car to deliver them. We almost lost both of them because they weren't tied down tight enough and started to roll off of the car when we went around the turn. When we got to mammy's house, Todd had to crawl out the window because the trees were pinning the doors shut and we couldn't get them open.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving fell on what would have been Dad's birthday this year. We were all a little sad that he could not be there to celebrate with us. We still had birthday baloons and a cake for him to celebrate. On each one of the baloons, we wrote small notes to dad and let the baloons go up in the air and float into heaven so that he could read them. It helped everyone alot.

Thanksgiving meal was very good. This was the first time that I cooked the meal. (First time I had ever cooked a turkey too) We had the traditional meal that we always have. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravey, corn, cressent rolls, green beans, and sweet potatoes. Almost everyone was there. Dave was out of the country working so he wasn't able to be there with us, but we made several phone calls during the day to him so that he could know what we were up to. As always, everyone ate too much. Later on that day, we played German Rummy and the boys played video games on the XBox. Fun was had by all.

Toddy's Last Soccer Game of the Season.

Toddy's last soccer game of the season was tonight and we were there to cheer him on. He only scored one goal tonight, but it was the only one that was scored for his team. All of the children played really well and have made so much improvement in such a short time.
After the game, each child that played received a medal for their participation in the sport. Toddy was very proud of his and walked around and showed it to everyone. We even had to stop the car so that he could show his friend Reilly and Brianna.

After we left the game we did something special to celebrate the medal. I took him to friendly's for dinner and ice cream. He loves to build his own ice cream sundae there.

ZTA Picnic

The sorority that Heidi belongs to had a picnic to honor the mothers and women who support them. Heidi invited us to the picnic where Mammy, Bobbie, and I were presented with pins of their symbol of the crown. We had a really good time at the picnic with Heidi and meeting some of her "sisters". Everyone brought a small dish of food and we snacked on what was there. The girls put on a really nice pinning ceremony for everyone.

Bloomsburg Fair

We went to the Bloomsburg Fair where we spent the morning and early afternoon checking out all of the sights that you usually expect to see at the fair. We stopped at Grotto Pizza and had pizza for lunch. Went through the animal barns and buildings full of crafts, ate, played games and had a really good time. It wasn't very crowded at the fair until we were almost ready to leave. It rained a little bit but not enough to drive us away... Toddy won some prizes at the games we played and won his Steeler's basket ball this year...

Toddy's First Soccer Game.

Toddy was in his first soccer game for AYSO U-6. He plays for the green team and has been given the number 3 for his shirt. He did really good for his first time at a real game. At that age group, they play 3 against 3 without a goalie. Toddy scored 2 goals (one was accidently for the other team.)

Raminator - Monster Truck

The local car dealership had a free event where they invited a monster truck in to perform for anyone who wanted to see it. We took Toddy to see him twice. The first night it was Me, Toddy and Mammy. The second time it was Me, Toddy and Todd. We had a really good time watching the monster truck crush cars, kick up dirt and we even too a ride in the back of one.
